Reader Review of "The Final Warning" by James Patterson

Maximum Ride returns in a "chilling" (bad pun) new adventure full of thrills, shocking new enemies, and a powerful message for the books readers.

After facing life threatening peril after peril, Max and her flock of half human/half bird kids would love nothing more than to rest and relax. But life, and destiny, have other things in mind. Max's parents (found out in book 3) have suggested that she and the flock use their new found fame to help the world at large. So, along with other scientists, head down to the end of the Earth. Antartica. The flock get a crash course on global warming, the dangers, and the effects it's having all over the world. While studying these effects, a new enemy rears it's head. Can Max, Fang, Iggy, Gazzy, Nudge, Angel, and Total fight this new found foe, and fight the damage of this world-wide threat?

The book told quite a different story than those who've been with the Flock since day one may be used to. Some may say the horrors of what global warming has done and what will do may be presented in a heavy handed fashioned. And at certain parts of the book, I'd agree. But the overall message is one that, even if you don't agree with the directness, proves affective. It got me thinking more about what exactly global warming is. The effects that it has on all of us, even if we don't realize it right away.

I highly reccomend "The Final Warning". If for no other reason for the fact that it'll make you think
