Reader Review of "Saving the World: And Other Extreme Sports" by James Patterson

The time is now for Maximum Ride and her Flock to save the world. In "Saving the World: And Other Extreme Sports", James Patterson wraps up his award winning series with the ultimate fight for survival that the six bird kids have faced yet. Or does he?...

Max and her band of half human-half avian hybrids have fought for their lives a countless number of times. It's something that comes natural to them. But the plans Max has been hearing since she escaped the sinister School to "save the world" finally become clear in this book. The evil scientists behind thier creation have engineered the "Re-Evolution" plan, which is a way of finding the strongest, healthiest, most useable people and creations and keeping them around. The not so useful get...retired. It's up to Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel (as well as their talking dog, Total) to stop the Re-Evolution. But can they do it split up, and half a world away from each other?

I was utterly enthralled by the book. I was reading it during my health class while everyone else was doing Yoga and Pilates (things I've learned I cannot do). I couldn't put it down. The pace was fast, the plot twists coming at times I never expected them too, and the ending enjoyable for evey type of reader, from 1 to 100.

For someone who wasn't into science fiction when I first started the Maximum Ride series, I have to say James Patterson has thoroughly piqued my interest in these genetic wonders known as The Flock. So far, this is my favorite book in the series. I can't wait to see what happens next.
