The latest book in the highly acclaimed and beloved series starring Maximum Ride and her Flock of loveable bird kids picks up right where the last book left off.
Hot off the heels of their Antarctic adventure, Max and the gang learn of a more deadly threat. Millions of fish are dying off the Hawaiian coast, and something is destroying ships all across the same strech of land. Frantic for a solution, the govenrment enlist the Flocks help. But with every move they make, they are being watched by the deadly Mr. Chu. He is a villain the likes of which the world has never seen. He has his own sinister plans for the flock. It's up to Max, Fang, Angel, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Total the talking dog to save the ocean, defeat Mr. Chu. But can Max focus when her mother disappears and a romance bubbles to the surface?
The book had a birsk pace, humor both children and adults will appreciate, and action to spare. But the book was hard to get into for me. Maybe it's because I read books 2 through 5 with no spacers (something I never ever do), but I didn't feel the heart and soul I usually do behind the book.
That's not to say the book was bad. I enjoyed it immensly. And I leave it to you, the reader, to decide if you like it too.
