Tammy, thanks for your ability to relate. I do not have Roses are Red but i did just finish Violets are blue. I have read so many of his other books, well almost all those in that series. I am almost finshed with 4 blind mice, i read all the ones prior.

I carry one book with me every time I am out and about playing army. I do have a question? Does anyone have a running Tally of how many times Alex Cross has been shot, bite, stabbed hit, with fist, car stick, bat ect. Who did this, and what book it was in?

I just brought my copy of 'I, Alex Cross'. I didn't expect to get my hands on it until November when it's due to be released in the USA. I'm so excited to read it but am forcing myself to finish off ' The Murder of King Tut' which I only brought yesterday. I can hardly wait.

I would like to see an Alex Cross and Women Murders Group teamup. It is long overdue.

When the wind blows was a good read. it was different. he re-vamped those characters and they are now in the maximum drive series, for young adults.

Hi all! I just joined because I recently retired and have laid in about 6 more Cross books so that I can catch up with the series. Like several of you I started with Cross, then Double Cross, when I realized I needed to go in order, so I gathered my collection and put them on an Excel spreadsheet so that I don't purchase too many duplicates. (I also read the Women's Murder Club). First I listed them (copied the list from these webpages) all then I put them in chronological reading order (lucky thing I started putting start and end dates in the front cover after the first two reads!). My list is complete and now I fill in all the blanks. I did get thrown off and purchased When the Wind Blows (the nursery rhyme title convinced me it belonged in the Cross series so I didn't read the back cover and what-not).

My daughter loves how most of the Alex Cross series books are named after nursery rhymes.

Pop goes the weasel is definitely the most important one if you want to know what's up with christine. It will explain whay she is how she is.

Yeah, and I agree with Deidre. It is good to read a series in order. I have read all of the Alex Cross books, but when I first started, I started reading out of order. I didn't know that there were so many Alex Cross books or that they went in a certain order, so I read them like this.. 1st - Cross (12th book in the series), 2nd - The Big Bad Wold (9th book in the series), 3rd - London Bridges (10th book in the series), and then I realized they went in a certain order and started from the beginning with Along Came A Spider (1st book in the series).

After starting from the beginning I went all the way through the series, in order, and just skipped the 3 books I'd already read. However, even though I only read 3 books out of order, I still got kind of confused at some points in the series, and I ended up having to look through the books I'd already read and try to figure out the order in which certain things happened. I also read all 8 of the Women's Murder Club books, but luckily, I knew that those went in a certain order and read them correctly. It was definitely a lot less confusing!

I do have to say though, since you have already read the Alex Cross series out of order, it might be helpful to go back to each book and write down some of the more important things that happened. I ended up doing that to keep up with everything and it helped a ton! Even when I started reading them in order, there are so many of them that after several books I started to forget what happened in what book. Anyway, that helped me so maybe you could try that and see if it helps some?
